Trident begins a busy year with speaking engagements
It's been a busy start to the year for the Trident team, but we have hit the ground running. Our CEO, Dr Mark Lovatt, has been speaking at several events on the importance and positive impacts of the 2016 ISO 37001 Anti-bribery Management System.
At the recent "Combatting Procurement Fraud in the Private and Public Sectors", Dr Lovatt spoke to a roomful of delegates from all over the country, including a large contingent from Sarawak, on the ISO 37001.
On the 7th of February, Dr Lovatt spoke at the Malaysian Institute of Accountants' (MIA) conference on Trust and Integrity. He shared on the issue of whistleblowing, its importance, as well as some thoughts on the more controversial aspects of anonymous reporting. Dr Lovatt shared the stage with some of the leading integrity practitioners in Malaysia, including representatives from Petronas, Celcom Axiata, Malaysia's Insurance Deposit Corporation (PIDM), and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Trident was also honoured to be invited to Putrajaya to share our perspective on the ISO 37001 with representatives from both the public and private sector at an event organised by the Integrity Department in the Prime Minister's Office. Dr Lovatt spoke alongside senior representatives from SIRIM QAS, Malaysia's national certification and inspections body, and Top Glove Berhad.

Dr Mark Lovatt was speaking at the Top Glove's Integrity Day on 8th December 2017, talking about “Effective Anti Corruption measures in Private Sector”.
The event was organised by Transparency International Malaysia, aimed at promoting an anti-corruption message amongst Top Glove's staff, business partners and the wider community.
After a key note address by Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai, Executive Chairman, Top Glove Corporation Bhd, the other speakers at the event Mr Amerul Muner Mohammad, and Mr. Tam Wah Fiong, Chairman of Thumbprints spoke on various matters related to upholding the Integrity in a company.

Dr Mark Lovatt was speaking at the Petronas National Integrity Convention on Thursday, talking about The Future of Corporate Ethics: You Can Run But You Can't Hide at one of the sessions. Thanks to Petronas, Dr Anis and IIM for organising such an excellent event!
Dr. Mark Lovatt spoke on Dimension 1 - Anti Corruption Programme for Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG)'s 'Implementation of Report on Transparency in Corporate Reporting' Seminar held at Istana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on the 16th of October 2017.
Among those present were representatives and directors from the Malaysian main list of companies, including Maybank, RHB bank and Axiata.
Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), the national power corporation of Malaysia, has appointed Trident Integrity Solutions as the consultants for the design and implementation of the ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System. The picture shows Tan Sri Leo Moggie, Chairman of TNB, passing the signed contract to Dr Mark Lovatt, CEO of Trident, while TNB President / CEO Datuk Seri Ir. Azman bin Mohd and Chief Integrity Development Officer Tn Hj Kamal Ariffin Bin Abdullah look on.
The contract award ceremony was a part of TNB's annual Integrity Day, which also included the launch of the TNB Corporate Integrity Management system, of which the ISO will form the primary component.

Trident Integrity is proud to support collective action initiatives to combat corruption risks experienced by companies.
Our Project Manager, and incidentally Integrity Alliance Manager of the Business Integrity Alliance, Ms Rachel Chow, was invited to speak at a workshop in Hanoi on 12 April 2017 jointly organised by the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Center for Social Governance Research (CENSOGOR) – a partner of Transparency International in Vietnam.
The workshop, titled “Fostering Better Business Environment through Collective Actions in Business Integrity in Vietnam” brought together promoters and implementers of business integrity collective actions in Vietnam, Malaysia and Philippines to exchange views, key challenges and recipes for success.
Trident Integrity assists Governments, NGOs and other organisations in the design and build of effective coalitions to tackle corruption challenges that are too large for a single entity to tackle alone. Collective action is required so that organisations affected by the problem can combine forces, work together and significantly impact the issue. Trident Integrity Solutions presents a two-day training programme on ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System. This programme is designed for governance and integrity professionals considering the implementation of an anti-bribery compliance system based on ISO 37001. Participants of this programme will be equipped with an in-depth understanding of the ISO 37001, its overall structure, individual components and general requirements for compliance and working towards certification.
